We've pulled together some of our favourite resources on Education. We've provided a description of what they are and who created them. You can click on the link and it will take you to the resource. Learning Platforms

  • Learn My Way from Good Things Foundation has lots of free courses to help you learn digital skills to stay safe and connected.
  • Skills for Tomorrow by BT is a great resource for helping learners feel more confident and develop their skills.
  • Digital Garage from Google enables you to learn at your own pace, with flexible and personalised training courses designed to build your confidence and help you thrive.
  • The SQA Academy offers a range of digital literacy courses – with topics ranging from ESOL to internet safety, there’s bound to be a great opportunity for learners in there.
  • Barclay’s Life Skillsaims to give millions of people the skills, knowledge and confidence they need for work with lots of great tools, tips and learning resources.

Youth Work

  • The Digital Youth Work site is a digital resource hub for those in youth work, covering a range of topics including training, apps, activities, gaming, wellbeing, planning, evaluation, consent and online safety.
  • We also love theDigital Youth Work Guide created by the National Youth Agency and The Mix UK, full of great hint and tips

Early Years Learning

  • BBC Bitesize is a great source for parents/carers and teachers to support young people with homework. 
  • Teach Your Monsters to Read is a fabulous and fun game that makes learning to read fun! It covers everything from letters and sounds to full sentences. 
  • National Geographic Kidhas educational resources, games, quizzes, and competitions to keep the kids occupied - even while they're learning! 
  • The Science Musesum's Games & Apps page is a great place to check out their collection, complete some brain-teasing puzzles, or learn about science! 
  • TheHungry Little Minds campaign provides simple, fun activities for kids aged 0-5 years old. 
  • Khan Academy Kids aims to inspire a lifetime of learning and discovery with free, fun educational programmes for children aged 2 - 8. Find out more and download the app! 

STEM Education (Science Technology, Engineering & Maths)

  • FutureLearn has hundreds of online courses from top universities and specialist organisations on topics like programming, super-computing and creating apps.  
  • BT Skills for Tomorrow offers a course from Google Digital Garage that provides an introduction to code, how it works, what it can do and how it can benefit you.  
  • The Education Scotland Wakelet site offers a collection of materials stored online that can be used for: ELC Science, Primary Science, BGE Secondary Science, Senior Phase Sciences and STEM.  

Adult Education

  • Google Art & Culture helps you learn new things, access lots of information and allows you to tour museums all over the world from the comfort of your couch!  
  • SkillSeeder creates new opportunities to learn and share skills. Check it out and search for a course! 
  • Education Scotland is the place to find resources to support learning opportunities across the curriculum. 
  • Duolingo has millions of users across the globe - and it's a fun, free and effective way to learn a language!
